Caledan Completes first ‘Passivhaus’ project using the Primaframe System

Caledan have recently completed a first ‘Passivhaus’ project using the Primaframe System. Location : Trecenydd & Trethomas Client : Caerphilly Council Main Contractor : Willmott Dixon Caledan are very pleased to have recently completed a first ‘Passivhaus’ project using the Primaframe System. The penalised system, developed in conjunction with Willmott Dixon to the requirements of Caerphilly County Borough Council, achieved incredible air tightness results whilst using the British Gyspum Glasroc X external sheathing board, which has resulted in the project being awarded Passivhaus status. In a recent UKAS accredited fire test the Primaframe ‘through wall’ build up surpassed expectations and achieved 90 mins, integrity, insulation & load bearing requirements, again whilst utilising British Gyspum products. Similarly, impressive results were achieved when testing the loaded Primaframe acoustic floor build up, which also exceeded expectations.

12 Month Extensive Investment Programme in New Plant and Machinery

Caledan's technically advanced manufacturing facility in South Wales produces a range of precision light gauge steel framing systems. During the course of the last 12 months we have embarked upon an extensive investment programme in new plant and machinery and by engaging with key stakeholders within the construction and housing industries. We have developed a MMC that will serve both us and our customers in the coming years. Our suite of rolling mills and panel assembly line enable us to supply consistently high quality frames and sections in volume to meet the ever-increasing demands of the industry. Through the adoption of world class manufacturing techniques, we are able to commit to an On Time in Full delivery policy. We offer a range of framing solutions from "stick-build" infill SFS to a fully closed panel system to Passivhaus standards. Our systems are manufactured to the highest quality complying to BS EN 9001, BS EN 1090 and BS EN 14001, and at the very core of our essence is our flexibility enabling us to offer what we believe is an unparalleled level of service and support to our customers.
