About the Project

Oakdale Place is an ambitious development of high-spec, low-impact eco homes , designed to set new standards for sustainable living in rural environments.

Each property combines modern architecture with advanced building technology to deliver comfort, efficiency, and environmental responsibility.

The Challenge

The brief called for a robust and sustainable framing solution that could meet demanding project goals:

Tight build schedules with minimal onsite disruption
Low maintenance and full compliance with modern fire and safety standards
A cost-effective, sustainable alternative to traditional timber or block methods

Caledan partnered with the design and construction teams from the very start, providing a comprehensive design-and-build steel framing package that supported the entire project lifecycle.

Caledan Completes first ‘Passivhaus’ project using the Primaframe System

Caledan have recently completed a first ‘Passivhaus’ project using the Primaframe System.

Caledan are very pleased to have recently completed a first ‘Passivhaus’ project using the Primaframe System. The penalised system, developed in conjunction with Willmott Dixon to the requirements of Caerphilly County Borough Council, achieved incredible air tightness results whilst using the British Gyspum Glasroc X external sheathing board, which has resulted in the project being awarded Passivhaus status.

In a recent UKAS accredited fire test the Primaframe ‘through wall’ build up surpassed expectations and achieved 90 mins, integrity, insulation & load bearing requirements, again whilst utilising British Gyspum products. Similarly, impressive results were achieved when testing the loaded Primaframe acoustic floor build up, which also exceeded expectations.

Caledan are also pleased to be working with Willmott Dixon and Caerphilly County Council on the forthcoming Oakdale residential scheme where the Primaframe system will again be deployed.

12 Month Extensive Investment Programme in New Plant and Machinery
